Weight Loss

Tips to start you off on your weight loss Journey

I don't know if I should be happy that I'm not alone on the Journey of weight loss or if I  should be sad that another person is out there struggling with what to do or not to do, to get in shape and live a healthier, happier, leaner life. I don't know about you but I think its tuff, and not to mention expensive. and there are so many people who are experts on this subject, but they all want you to do something different. and oh yes I have tried several that started out ok, I lost a few pounds, I thought I was on my way, but then I started not feeling so well, was hungry all the time, the diets were not playing well with my heart meds I wasn't losing much weight, the list goes on and on.  That's when it came to me maybe I should not be doing any of these fad diets at all. Maybe I should not even diet. maybe I should just eat good healthy foods, cut out the junk, you know the good stuff( lol just kidding I love fruits and veggies.) and get out walk more, and stop obsessing over that scale in the bathroom. and yes occasionally. I do reward myself with a dessert of my choice, and I am happier, lighter and feeling better then I have in a long time. amazing huh. and my doctor is oh so pleased. he doesn't have to worry about what pill I'm taking or how it's going to affect my heart condition because of the starvation, or magic potions in consuming. it's a win-win and the whole family can benefit from it.  no more fixing this for them and air diet for you. you can once again sit at the same table and enjoy the same food. so my Tip for you is.....

1. stop dieting- find recipes and cook wholesome foods, mainly vegetables and meats, but check cause not all of them are as health and weight friendly as you think. you can do some protein shakes and smoothies just check whats in them. but at least twice a day you need actual food. don't skip meals

2. Don't think just eating right is going to do it, make sure you have some kind of exercise to go with it.  walking for at least 30 minutes a day twice a day if nothing else. If you have any kind of medical condition check with your doc and see what may be a good exercise for you. and if you get hungry in between meals, eat a handful of unsalted almonds or cashews. they not only curb hunger they add protein and are also a mood leveller. oh and drink your water. before during and after exercise. ( I know my husband is dying laughing over this part. I personally hate drinking water, but I'm working on it lol)

3. stop obsessing over your weight. get off your scales. That only adds stress and pressure, which makes you depressed. that spells failure. if you need to check get a tape measure and check inches. remember muscle ways more then fat. and go by yourself a outfit that the size matches a goal you set reasonably for yourself. when you get there set another and repeat till you get to your desired weight. then you get to go buy a new wardrobe. how is that for a reward!!!

4. Make this a long-term commitment. Remember this way its not only helping you to be the person you wanna be, but it is setting your kids a example that they can continue for the rest of their lives as well.
